What’s your style?
I consider myself primarily a documentary filmmaker focusing on natural emotions. I simply want you to relive in the wedding video your first kiss, hear your clear and unique „I do“ and see the knife cut unstoppably through the fluffy cake. I don’t interfere too much with the action, at most I move you to a better light and you hear a few jokes from me during the couple shooting to relax you perfectly. Just no forced poses. My goal is to tell the story as it really happened with an emphasis on the emotion and beauty of the moment… And most importantly, we have to have some fun with it too :))
Are we having a pre-wedding meeting?
Personally, I highly recommend it (although it’s not absolutely necessary – a video call can be substituted) because we’ll be spending a lot of time together on D-day. We’ll have a coffee or a beer and be buddies at the wedding.
How long until you respond to my first email?
Definitely no later than 24 hours, even if I already have a date booked! If this does not happen, then the email or contact form has failed, in which case please email me again :))
How far are you willing to drive to the wedding?
The farthest country from the Czech Republic is New Zealand, so probably there…and as far as I know, no one does weddings in space yet :))
Do you have backup equipment in case something goes wrong at the wedding?
Yes, I have a backup camera right by me during the ceremony and close by in my backpack during other parts of the day. Plus, each camera shoots on two cards at the same time, so the likelihood of a major screw-up is minimized.
Are you limiting your time at the wedding by the number of hours?
No, I’ll be with you from the morning preparations to the evening party…and sometimes I’ll dance by myself. I simply want to get the best shots for your film. I mean, I’m usually at a wedding for about 14 hours.
How long does a couple shooting take?
For my needs, 15 minutes of your time is enough, but we can easily spend an hour doing it. It’s all about mutual agreement.
How do you deal with unexpected situations at a wedding?
I downright enjoy wedding chaos and the more unexpected the situation, the better.
Do you work alone or do you bring someone else with you?
I work alone and I think that’s enough. My opinion is that another person would already interfere with the intimacy and atmosphere of the event. After all, it’s a wedding, not a Hollywood movie. Simply one photographer and one videographer is the ideal team for me, who can accommodate each other perfectly, not hanging around and disturbing the action more than is inevitably necessary.
Do you work with any photographers?
I have a few photographers that we have done a few weddings with and we recommend each other. So if you want any tips then don’t be shy to ask.
What’s included in price?
Pretty much everything you can think of. A pre-wedding meeting (or video call), my great company at the wedding, extensive equipment, drone footage from a licensed pilot, etc. I simply don’t like any hidden fees. Only for distances over 150 km from Olomouc we will discuss the possibility of accommodation. And as for reimbursement for the fare? Then I choose that solely in the context of wedding refreshments…I just eat a lot :))
When will the video be ready?
– I will deliver the short reel within 3 days;
– A 5-minute clip (or 10-minute) within 1 month (but often within a week);
– A 20 – 30 minute documentary normally after the wedding season during the fall and winter months;
– If ordering analogue 8mm film, a 3-week delay must be expected due to film development in Germany.
How long does it take to post-produce a wedding film?
A 5-minute clip takes about 35 hours.
Can we choose the music for our film?
I enjoy choosing music for each specific wedding, but I’m not opposed to giving me inspiration. It’s all just about mutual agreement. At the very least, I’ll be interested in your favorite style of music.
How do you transmit the videos?
Initially via a non-public link on YouTube, then I transfer the original file either via the „uschovna.cz“ repository or on a flash drive.
How long have you been doing video?
I edited my first video back in 2015 and by 2022 the number of enquiries pushed me to start a business.
Do you honestly enjoy it or is it just a business for you?
I enjoy it so much and find invoicing the least enjoyable part of the whole process :))
